A new weekly competition has just started, and we're updating the rules to make the competition more fair.
As you already know, we love real people with real identity. That's why we don't want to give any advantage to new, anonymous users who are voting by SMS. We prefer users who use a valid web profile to vote, as well as cell phone.
So… we're changing the SMS points distribution.
As of now, if the cell phone number is associated to a valid email address used for voting. First vote ever by SMS will be worth 15 points
• First vote in this weekly competition will be worth 9 points
• First vote per profile per week will be worth 5 points
• A SMS vote that is not attached to email address will be worth only 2 points.
Timing
Because of changes that were made during the champions league, each competition will begin and end on Sunday, at 22:00 UK time.
Yme video
Keep on sending us Yme videos! You can now use our uploader to upload your videos directly to us.
How does it work? Very simple!
When you're logged in, you'll see a new "Yme" link next to your e-mail address. Click on it, and fill in the video description. Then upload you're video and wait until it's up. It may take a few minutes, so don't close the inter8ing window.
Video bonuses
we will reward every new video with 80 pts!
After the first week, each existent video will give its creator a 25 pts bonus.
Best video Bonus
Every Thursday, inter8ing's community manager – Alizarin, will choose the best video of the week, and it will be given an additional 50 bonus points. It will be chosen for its quality, originality and popularity.

1.We will only accept video clips and not slideshows (Presentations).
2.We want to see your face. We will only accept videos that don't show your face if it has a reasonable and original explanation.
3.The video must be clear, with correct lighting and sound sync.
4.It has to contain the word inter8ing in the video and in its title.
5.It has to be up to one minute long.
Video removal
Removing your video from YouTube during the competition will cause you a point penalty. If you want to remove your video from inter8ing, please inform us by mail Service@inter8ing.co.uk.

The Christmas champions league: Rules and regulations

The inter8ing Christmas champions league starts tomorrow! We start with 15 chosen champions, every day we will eliminate 2 of them, and the last and only winner wins a HUGE 1000$ prize!
Before you start the quest for votes, read are rules and regulations. They will be forced throughout the whole champions league, and you can get higher points not only by getting votes, but also by completing our cool challenges!

During the champions league, we accept votes from identified user, only!
☻Web votes will be worth 10 points
☻SMS votes will be worth 5 points
☻Each vote from the USA gives you 5 extra points, which means – USA web vote = 15 pts, USA SMS vote=10 pts.
special champions' votes
☻At the beginning of the champions league, each champion will receive one GOLDEN vote.
- The golden vote is worth 100 points
- It can only be given once to an opponent
- All Golden votes must be used by Thursday
- Any one eliminated loses his Golden vote
☻On some challenges, you will be awarded SILVER votes.
- Silver votes are worth 25 points
- It can be given only to an opponent
- it must be used on the same day as the challenge was given.
- when you send us a mail with the challenge, send us the opponent you'd like to give the silver vote to.

Besides the noises from the street, it has also a background music playing from the computer. On the one hand it's nice, but on the other hand it sounds messy. Rather insert music into your video by editing than by playing it in the background! :)

This is a really great one! Sammy has an adorable accent and she knows how to make her video look better just by using simple means. Being outdoors can make your video way cooler! Love your room and computer? Then you can combine being indoors and outdoors in the same short clip. It makes it more vivid and varied. Here's a short clip I shot and edited, of a friend of mine.

We just wandered around her neighborhood and found some cool locations + I've added a bunch of still photos of her I shot earlier to create a cool stop motion scene.
I did all the clip with my small, cheap camera. Really, it was the cheapest device I could find, it costs less than 50 £. What I'm trying to say, is that you don't need professional equipment to be creative.

Besides the noises from the street, it has also a background music playing from the computer. On the one hand it's nice, but on the other hand it sounds messy. Rather insert music into your video by editing than by playing it in the background! :)

This is a really great one! Sammy has an adorable accent and she knows how to make her video look better just by using simple means. Being outdoors can make your video way cooler! Love your room and computer? Then you can combine being indoors and outdoors in the same short clip. It makes it more vivid and varied. Here's a short clip I shot and edited, of a friend of mine.

We just wandered around her neighborhood and found some cool locations + I've added a bunch of still photos of her I shot earlier to create a cool stop motion scene.
I did all the clip with my small, cheap camera. Really, it was the cheapest device I could find, it costs less than 50 £. What I'm trying to say, is that you don't need professional equipment to be creative.

Valid users, USA bonus and troubleshooting
Who is a valid user?
Following the champions league, we would like to phrase more accurately the meaning of a valid user.
Officially, a valid user is a real, specific person who uses his active mail address and his real phone number to vote for you from his personal computer.
Anybody who doesn't follow these specifications, is not a valid user.
It means that the e-mail address you provide us has to be an address you really use to reply incoming e-mails. Why? Because when we suspect a cheater, we block him from voting – and the only way to unblock it, is by replying the mail we send you. You don't have to worry about giving us your mail since we don't spam. You can even ask our prior users.
USA BONUS
Our SMS service from USA is now working, therefore we want to attract some users from USA to participate on inter8ing. That's why we're applying a special USA bonus as of this week!

Hello inter8ers!
Important rule about all your further inter8ing videos:
All the videos made for inter8ing, have to include the word "inter8ing" at least once in the clip, and it also has to be tagged with "inter8ing" on YouTube.
New champions
If we will decide to put cool inter8ers back into the champions league, we will eliminate 3 profiles instead of 2 during the remaining days of the competition.

Since you're all from UK, we decided to end the competition according to UK time, as of Wednesday.
That means that all the challenges will end earlier.

The inter8ing Champions League (November 23rd – 29th)
Next week, instead of the regular inter8ing contest we will hold a special champions league. This will be a special one week contest for our finest, best and most successful winners.
There will be one prize only - $1,000!
Who will contest?
We will be announcing 15 top inter8ing contesters - as chosen by us. They will compete for a week, to become the inter8ing champion of champions!
How will it work?
These 15 profiles will have to convince their friends to vote for them. Every day during the week, the two profiles with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated and sent home!
The winner
On Saturday (November 29th) we will have the contest Grand Finale, there can only be one winner!! The winner of the inter8ing champions league will receive a huge, never seen before prize of $1,000. To win the prize you will have to work hard to beat and overcome the other 14 champions during the week.
What are the requirements?
We will contact the candidates directly. To participate, you MUST have a video made especially for this champions league competition.

Hello inter8ers!
We got your cool videos and we like them a lot. To remind you: profiles with posted videos will receive 50 points EVERY week, so keep on posting more videos!
However, the videos have to be clear, in sync and short (about 30 seconds or less – that's the best!)
Videos that show your face are preferable.
Plus, there are some restrictions we have to make, because we want to give different people a better chance to win the big prizes. Starting next week's contest (16.11), we will ban the top 4 winners from participating for TWO weeks after they won. That means that they won't participate the next contest, and another contest afterwards.
We got your cool videos and we like them a lot. To remind you: profiles with posted videos will receive 50 points EVERY week, so keep on posting more videos!
However, the videos have to be clear, in sync and short (about 30 seconds or less – that's the best!)
Videos that show your face are preferable.
Plus, there are some restrictions we have to make, because we want to give different people a better chance to win the big prizes. Starting next week's contest (16.11), we will ban the top 4 winners from participating for TWO weeks after they won. That means that they won't participate the next contest, and another contest afterwards.

The other thing I wanted to mention is: We had some problems last week with votes that our security system (and A', responsible for deleting) did not like. We blocked those, and people were angry. We HAVE TO keep this contest clean, otherwise it will be meaningless. In the hot li'l country mentioned above, we've forced all user to ID by cell phone, and it worked great - but we won't go so far with this contest yet.
What we ARE doing, though:
1. First vote after identification will be worth 15 points - one time only!
This week we will grant 15 points for first vote of any identified voter, even if identification was done already. As of next week, only new identified users will get this bonus.
2. First vote of an identified voter per contest (e.g. this week), will be worth 8 points.
3. First vote of an identified voter for a certain profile per contest, will be worth 3 points
4. ALL VOTES of unidentified users will be worth 1 point. Only 10 such votes will be allowed per user for each contest.
You don't have to worry re this phone-based identification, really. inter8ing is a startup company, backed up by first-grade law and accounting firms such as Ernst & Young and WSGR. We have no use for the phone numbers, and will never use it for anything but the sole purpose of ID'ing you.

inter8ing's beta service is on!!
inter8ing is a whole new thing. Everybody we know is social networking, right? Many of these are creating content, sometimes great content: text, pics, video, music... Five million teens are creating such content in the U.S. alone.
But how can you find the really good pages, profiles and blogs? We gave it a lot of thought, and here's what we came up with:
1. We're running a monthly contest among personal web spaces such as blogs, personal pages, anything
2. Readers are voting for their favorite personal web spaces
3. At the end of the month we're paying cash prizes to top sites owners
Simple enough, right? And yes, we really pay our winners - no obligation, additional requests, nothing. Just win and get paid.
